Have you ever wondered about the night sky?
The awe and wonder it brings?
The way in which it heals the body and nourishes the soul?

A call to grow mentally, emotionally and spiritually
A call to reconnect with your authentic self (Fitrah)
A call to heal and bring yourself back to wholeness
A call to deepen your relationship with life
A call to turn beautifully to God
This invite may come through grief, heartbreak, unmet expectations, loss, or through the changes and transitions life brings.
In those defining moments you may choose to see the wisdom and answer this call or numb painful experiences by shunning the inner self and focus on outer achievements, success and validation.
The work of renewal, reflection and realigning with your authentic self is not about becoming someone new but to remember who you are without the stories and narratives you have been carrying for decades.
Emotional growth take you to new places and moments of discomfort will arise.
Yet, it is only when you move towards the unfamiliar do you get to see another version of yourself. That version that’s always been there but lost its way on this journey we call life.

We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with the stars (for beauty) (37:6)
The Islamic tradition has a rich history of observing the night sky. The new moon sets the Islamic calendar every month. The evening or night comes before the daylight hours of the day meaning a new calendar day officially begins at sunset. The night and darkness are honoured because the night is a time of rest and reflection.
Darkness and death itself is a form of rebirth.
- Life starts in the womb in complete darkness
- Plants and seeds are grown into the dark warmth of the soil
- Dark environments reset the circadian rhythms and internal biological clocks
- Many predators rely on darkness to hunt successfully. Prey animals use darkness to hide and feed safely.
The physical darkness is a metaphor for the anguish, difficulties, struggles and challenges we endure. Rather than become overwhelmed and consumed by it you can see it as an opportunity to evolve and grow spiritually and become mentally resilient. To recognise your human weaknesses with self-compassion and cultivate a heart that reminds you are a worthy being who is not defined by your circumstances.
